Transfer to Oregon

Considering transferring to the UO? Life here as a transfer student isn’t defined by the buildings or the rankings or the clubs—it’s the community. This is a campus that values authenticity and genuine interactions, where nerding out over your passions isn’t nerdy at all. We’re abuzz with fresh ideas, and there’s a spark to the atmosphere that inspires you to try something big, something groundbreaking. All around you are the tools you need to make it happen, with the people you need to show you how. In short, this is the place to find your place.

Find Your Path

With hundreds of academic programs, the UO has what you need to find your launch pad. Explore all our majors, minors, certificates, and preparatory programs including health professions like nursing and dentistry. Whether you’re ready to declare a major now or you’re not sure where to start, our advisors can help you delve into a passion, explore a new interest, and find your path at the UO and beyond while staying on track to graduate. With career services and portfolio-building opportunities under the same roof, you’ll find everything you need to join other recent alums who have jump started their careers.

Count Your Credits

You’ve done the work—you deserve the credit. The University of Oregon has options to make transferring your college credits easy. After we receive your application, we’ll send you an official report of how your credits will transfer in just a few weeks.

Transfer Existing Credits

If you don’t have an associates degree, you can still transfer to the UO. We accept most transfer credit from regionally accredited colleges and universities. Our transfer course equivalencies tool will help you determine how your courses will transfer.

Earn a Degree or Certificate

If you attended a community college in Oregon, California, or Washington, we accept many recognized degrees and certificates. These include the AAOT, ASOT, IGETC, CSUGE, and more. Check out our articulation agreements page for more information about how these transfer to the UO.

Transfer Support Resources

We’re happy to help no matter where you’re at in the transfer process—if you’re working on your application, wondering how your credits will transfer, or just exploring your options. You can contact the Office of Admissions by email at admissions@uoregon.edu or by call or text at 541-346-3201. We also welcome you to reach out directly to the counselor in your region dedicated to making your transfer experience a smooth one.

Student Life

The UO campus is buzzing with activity and energy. With more than 300 student organizations, you’ll have room to explore your interests with other Ducks from across the US and the world. And we offer plenty of housing options, including staying connected on campus in a residence hall, living in a university-sponsored apartment, or even allowing our staff to help you find the perfect off-campus home.

Eugene, Oregon

There’s something about Eugene that makes it more than a little special. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel right at home. This place feels familiar, green, and friendly. Walkable, bikeable, skateable. But also modern, totally connected, and vibrant. It’s kind of perfect—an extraordinary academic community surrounded by a quintessential college town. It’s alive with music, culture, food, art, and just the right amount of weird to keep things interesting.
